The format is simple and powerful: Prof. Tanja Stampfl connects live from the United States while you join from Power Akademi's classroom in Erzurum, together with your classmates. This is not a video you watch alone in your room. A moderating teacher sits in the room with you — putting your questions to the professor, keeping the discussion moving, drawing in the students who hesitate to speak. There is a real American academic on one side of the screen and a class that knows you on the other.

Not every native speaker is a good teacher, and not every good teacher carries academic English. Prof. Stampfl is a university faculty member — explaining ideas to a full room, prompting questions and steering debate is simply her profession. New phrases that surface during the class go into a shared expression log at the end and come back around in your other lessons that week.
The Gap Between Knowing English and Using It
Plenty of people who have studied English for years freeze the first time they speak to a native speaker. The cause is not missing knowledge, it is missing exposure. This program exists to close exactly that gap: every week, on a fixed schedule, thinking in the same room as a real American. After a while you stop translating and start thinking directly in English — which is the real goal of the program.

Do I need to travel to the United States?
No. Prof. Stampfl connects live from the US while you attend from Power Akademi's classroom in Erzurum. The whole program runs here.
What if my English isn't good enough to follow?
The program is designed for B1 and above. A Turkish moderating teacher is in the room and steps in wherever the class gets stuck. If you are unsure of your level, start with our free placement test — if you are below B1 we will guide you to the right course first.
Are the lessons live or recorded?
Fully live. This is not recorded content: you can put questions to the professor, get answers and join the discussion in real time.
